Objective

A technology company was looking to drive sales through an incentive scheme for UK businesses that sell laptop computers on its behalf. The company planned to offer top performers an exclusive trip to New York.

CWT Meetings & Events was appointed to create and deliver the incentive after an in-house marketer at the company experienced our capabilities at first-hand. With a group of other prospective clients, she was invited to New York for an event that showcased our expertise in providing flawless logistics, out-of-this-world experiences and events that leave a lasting impression.

Challenge

New York is a fantastic and popular destination, so there is always the possibility that guests have been there before. To ensure the incentive was tempting enough to drive competition, enjoyable and memorable, it needed to offer something extra. That meant drawing on CWT M&E’s local knowledge and supplier relationships to create a personalised, exclusive programme with experiences that an ordinary traveller wouldn’t be able to access alone.

Solution

The luxurious trip began with the right choice of five-star hotel. The New York Edition, housed in an historic 41-storey clock tower, offers comfort, style and exceptional service in the heart of the Flatiron district. It is also in the Marriott group, which is part of CWT M&E’s trusted supplier network, so we had confidence that flawless service could be relied upon.

Results

The incentive was a success in that it drove salespeople to earn a place on the trip. Through an itinerary of exclusive activities and meals, the winners felt rewarded and appreciated, and had memorable experiences that they would continue to talk about post-event. In addition, it cemented relationships between attendees and the company's hosts.
