Judges recognise great performance in Agency of the Year category
CWT Meetings & Events has received the accolade ‘highly commended’ after being shortlisted for Global Agency of the Year at the Conference & Incentive Travel (C&IT) Awards.
Celebrating after the decision was announced at a ceremony in London on 25 September, Chris Goundrill, commercial director UK & Ireland, said: “It was good to see CWT M&E recognised within the industry due to our customer focus and forward thinking. The evening was great fun and it was a pleasure to celebrate with team members who have been recognised as going above and beyond in their roles.”
The highly commended status reflects a stellar year for CWT M&E in 2016, which saw groundbreaking innovation and outstanding growth due to an increase in live events projects as well as the continued development of global SMM wins. The agency’s existing SMM clients were so satisfied that it retained 100% of its global SMM account portfolio.
As a division of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, CWT M&E has seen a massive increase in clients appreciating the benefits of consolidating their travel spend with their M&E spend thanks to the synergies in the two services.
Clients need to be prepared to face the demands of the world today, which is why in 2016 CWT M&E embarked on an exclusive partnership with International SOS to include safety and security services as a core offering. All customers will now be offered a free consultation with experts from ISOS and CWT to ensure they are aware of what needs to be incorporated within an event to protect the safety of their delegates.
Technology is evolving at an extraordinary rate and to keep pace with it CWT M&E held its first ever innovation think-tank. A global CWT M&E team met with clients, industry contacts and tech start-ups to discuss typical issues and sticking points that could be solved or improved with some inspired digital intervention. As a result, CWT M&E is now partnering three companies to offer tech solutions that will benefit clients, and more think-tanks will follow soon.
“It’s great to have our work recognised in this way, and now we must keep innovating and looking ahead to meet our customers’ needs in an ever-changing world,” concluded Chris.
