150 treated to the delights of Zambia

Energy leader

In a move to recognise staff achievement, this energy giant wanted to reward hard work with a once-in-a-lifetime incentive trip that aimed to wow attendees.

The objectives

The Africa/Middle East division of a major oil and gas company hosted an annual incentive trip for its best-performing salespeople, gas station managers and subsidiary employees.

The company wanted to hold this trip in the attendees’ home region and needed to impress 150 guests from 25 countries and 30 nationalities.

The solution

The imaginative three-day event used Zambia’s beautiful Royal Livingston Hotel as a base. Attendees experienced the thundering Victoria Falls by sunset on a 19th-century train, enjoyed local wildlife with photo safaris by four-wheel drive and boat, relaxed on a trip down the Maramba River and sipped cocktails under a starry sky.

CWT Meetings & Events
overcame several logistical challenges to make the event a success, these included 450 visa applications and challenging weather.

The results

CWT Meetings & Events successfully engaged 150 people from a cross section of countries and nationalities. The event received satisfaction ratings of more than 90 percent and achieved its objective of delighting attendees with an experience to remember.

In addition, despite the client’s reservations about continuing this annual gathering, CWT Meetings & Events were asked to organize the event for the following year.

The CWT Meetings & Events team earned a prestigious Les Grands Prix KRéA award for best incentive trip for the project.
